There is no account to create and no sign-in. We do not collect personal information, usage data, diagnostics, crash reports, advertising identifiers, or anything else. There is no analytics SDK, no tracking, no advertising, and no third-party code that reports on you.
Sharp Lynx is sandboxed by macOS with network access switched off, so it cannot make network requests even in principle. Every number it shows — CPU, GPU, memory, storage, network throughput, battery, temperatures and fan speed — is measured on your Mac by macOS itself and displayed locally. None of it is transmitted anywhere.
The one time the internet is involved is when you click the button to download or update the Sharp Lynx Helper. That opens the download page in your browser; the app itself never makes the connection.
Your settings and the recent metric history live in a container on your own Mac (~/Library/Group Containers/group.com.vincesoft.macmemorytool). They never leave the device. Deleting the app removes them.
Temperatures and fan speed are read by a separate free companion app, the Sharp Lynx Helper, which you download and install yourself. macOS does not expose thermal sensors to sandboxed App Store apps, which is why it exists. The Helper reads those sensors and writes them to the same local container that Sharp Lynx reads. It has no network code either, collects nothing, and sends nothing.
Sharp Lynx is suitable for all ages and, since it collects nothing, it collects nothing from children either.
Because no data ever reaches us, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, sell, or delete on your behalf. We have never had it.
If a future version of Sharp Lynx ever collects anything, we will update this page and disclose it in the App Store privacy label before that version ships.
